Blue Pacific Minerals (BPM) is a specialised mineral processing and manufacturing plant established in Tokoroa. Through ongoing development, BPM recognized their need to upgrade their existing manual electrical control system. With this, came a complete redesign of their process involving concept designs, switchboard manufacture, development and automation. A new purpose built dust proof electrical room houses the main 400amp switchboard and five sub boards containing the distribution and control of 45 motors. The entire operation will be controlled via a HMI (human machine interface) panel and PLC (programmable logic controller). Individual automated programs will allow the plant to operate either as a zeolite or perlite process. Through software design, we have also allowed for manual plan operation, individual speed setting of VSD’s (variable speed drive), an alarm and emergency stop operation.
